UNITED NATIONS INTERNATIONAL COVENANT ON ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL RIGHTS: SHADOW REPORT

In Geneva, the United Nations is beginning the process of examining the UK Government’s progress on its obligations under the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR), which ensures the enjoyment of economic, social and cultural rights and was ratified by the UK in 1976.  This includes progress made by the Scottish Government. 

As part of the process, civil society can submit ‘Shadow Reports’ to put across their views too. Engender submitted a Shadow Report from Scotland, bringing together the views of a range of women’s organisations, and Abortion Rights Scotland was pleased to contribute to the section on access to abortion services.
