On Saturday 5 September, March for ‘Life’ UK will once again take to the streets of London pushing an anti-abortion agenda.
We’ll be there to meet them.
Join Abortion Rights, trade unions, campaigners and pro-choice supporters from across the country as we Stand Up for Choice in Parliament Square.
At a time when abortion rights are under sustained attack around the world, staying silent isn’t an option. Anti-abortion organisations are growing in confidence, building political influence and importing tactics, language and funding networks from the US.
Britain is not immune.
Abortion is still governed by a Victorian criminal law. Women have faced police investigations and prosecution over their pregnancies. And anti-abortion campaigners continue to organise outside clinics, on campuses, online and in Westminster.
That’s why we stand up.
Why we’re standing up for choice
Because abortion is healthcare.
Everyone should be able to access safe, legal and compassionate abortion care without shame, stigma or fear.
Because our rights cannot be taken for granted.
We’ve seen what happens when movements committed to rolling back reproductive rights are allowed to build power unchecked.
Because abortion should not be a crime.
More than 160 years after the Offences Against the Person Act was passed, abortion remains embedded in criminal law. It’s time for change.
Because the anti-abortion movement is organised.
From Parliament to university campuses, groups opposed to abortion are working to shift the political conversation. We have to organise too.
Because the pro-choice majority needs to be visible.
They may be loud, but they do not speak for us. We will not let the streets of London become a platform for attacking our reproductive rights without answering back.
