Trump-Linked US Anti-Abortion Group to Attend March for Life UK

London, 23 August 2025 — The US organisation Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) is planning to attend March for Life UK on 6 September, marking the acceleration of Trump-connected anti-abortion activism onto British streets.

Kerry Abel, Chair of Abortion Rights — the grassroots campaign organisation organising the Stand Up for Choice Democounter-protest — said:

“PAAU’s presence at March for Life UK is a warning sign: far-right US networks are building visibility in Britain and finding platforms at the country’s largest anti-abortion event.”

PAAU rose to prominence in April 2022 after five foetuses were discovered in the Washington, DC apartment of its leading activist Lauren Handy. Handy had already served time in prison for blockading an abortion clinic. She was pardoned by Donald Trump upon his return to the presidency in January 2025 — underscoring the group’s direct ties to US far-right politics.

PAAU has also enlisted Randall Terry — founder of the extremist organisation Operation Rescue — as its media representative. Operation Rescue is notorious in the US for militant clinic blockades, harassment campaigns against doctors, and rhetoric that fuelled decades of anti-abortion violence.

Exporting Extremism: Their arrival represents the importation of US-style anti-abortion extremism into Britain.
Trump Connection: Handy’s pardon ties the group directly to Trump’s political machinery, raising questions about transatlantic far-right coordination.
Platforming Extremists: Randall Terry has openly praised the murder of abortion providers — showing PAAU’s willingness to align with the most notorious figures in America’s anti-abortion movement.
