Northern Ireland art collective Array Collective wins 2021 Turner prize
Campaigning for abortion rights should be joyous – and thanks to the latest winner of the Turner Prize, more people will see how it can be done. Abortion Rights sends heartfelt congratulations to the extraordinary Array Studios on winning the prestigious Turner Prize 2021. A special shout out goes to our sister activist Emma Campbell of Alliance For Choice.
The Array collective are talented, funny and unapologetically political. The Belfast-based artists’ winning Irish pub installation responds unflinchingly to issues such as abortion, mental health and queer liberation.
‘When art, love, solidarity and activism comes together in one place, it’s called Array,’ say Alliance for Choice.
An exhibition featuring the work of the shortlisted collectives can be seen at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum in Coventry until 12 January. We heartily recommend you do!
