Abortion Rights Scotland: 2021 Manifesto

Abortion Rights Scotland is calling on all Holyrood 2021 candidates to sign up to our #SP21 pledge to ensure free, safe, legal and local abortion #prochoiceparliament.

Equal Access for All
Abortion Rights urges all Parties to commit to:
• End the Postcode Lottery.
• Bring an end to varying gestational limits across NHS Boards
and standardise healthcare.
• All women requiring abortion should be able to access this
procedure in NHS Scotland – women should not be sent to
England for later abortion.
• Continue with telemedicine when requested and appropriate.

End harassment and intimidation
Abortion Rights urges all Parties to commit to:
• Introduce buffer zones outside Hospitals and Sexual Health Clinics
• Ensure women are able to access their legal right to abortion and information free from intimidation.

Decriminalisation of abortion
Abortion Rights urges all Parties to commit to: • Remove abortion from the criminal law.
